Iran Press/Middle East: US President Donald Trump said in a statement on Thursday that the Zionist regime and the UAE had reached an agreement to "fully normalize relations."
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) strongly condemned the agreement, stressing that it was a "moral and strategic collapse of UAE politics."
Pointing out that such an agreement is a betrayal of the principles of the Islamic Ummah, PIJ stated that the attempt to justify this agreement is a pure misguidance and humiliation that is not hidden from anyone.
To justify their agreement to normalize relations with the Zionist regime, UAE officials said yesterday that they had been able to stop the plan to occupy large areas of the West Bank that the Zionist regime was supposed to implement.
Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed claimed that "in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it was agreed to stop the plan to annex (occupy) the Palestinian territories."
Rejecting bin Zayed's claim, Netanyahu said that the agreement between the UAE and Israel had ushered in a "new era" in Israeli-Arab relations, dismissing bin Zayed's claim that the plan had only been delayed and not canceled.
PIJ called on the "living groups" of Arab and Islamic parliaments and nations to raise their voices in rejection of this humiliating agreement; An agreement that "recognizes the Zionist regime and this issue is also a threat to the identity of the region.
PIJ concluded by noting that the Palestinian people are determined to continue the resistance and that this agreement will not change its course.
The joint statement by the UAE, Israel, and the US said: “Opening direct ties between two of the Middle East’s most dynamic societies and advanced economies will transform the region by spurring economic growth, enhancing technological innovation and forging closer people-to-people relations.”
