Iranian, Lebanese envoy to Russia discuss Beirut explosion

Iranian ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali met his Lebanese counterpart Chawki Bou Nassar, discussing the recent explosion in Beirut.

Iran Press/Europe: During the meeting, Jalali expressed his condolences to the Lebanese side and stressed the solidarity and of Iran's nation and government with the government and people of Lebanon, as well as the continued support of the government and people of that country.

Chawki Bou Nassar for his part explained the latest situation in Lebanon after the incident and thanked Iran for its continued support of Lebanon.

During the meeting, the two sides expressed their desire to continue their contacts and meetings on issues of interest.

A powerful explosion took place on August 4 at warehouse No. 12 in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, causing extensive financial and human losses.

The blast has so far killed more than 150 people and injured about 5,000, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
