Kermanshah (IP) - The museum of the column capitals remained from the Sassanid historical period has been set up in the historical site of Kermanshah Taq-e Bostan, western Iran.

Iran PressIran News: The existence of various works that remained from the Sassanid historical period in Kermanshah province, shows the rich history, civilization, and culture of Iran. In the museum of the Sassanid period capitals, 12 column capitals from the period have been collected and exhibited for people, tourists, and history lovers.

The capitals are considered valuable examples of sculptural art of the Sassanid historical period and therefore, are considered by historical researchers.

The head of Museums Affairs of Kermanshah's Department of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Akram Tahmasbi emphasizing the beauty of art reached its peak in the Sassanid period, said that inverted tulips of were engraved on the column capitals in a beautiful way. 

Kermanshah province is one of the most important destinations for Iranian and foreign tourists in western Iran, due to its diverse historical-ancient capacities and beautiful nature.  207/216
