Tehran (IP)- Iran's President on Sunday said that inhumane sanctions against the Islamic country together with the COVID-19 crisis have created difficulties for Iran in currency exchange as well as the import sector.

Iran PressIran news: The 145th session of the government's economic headquarters was held on Sunday morning, chaired by President Hassan Rouhani, where the country's most important economic issues were discussed.

Referring to the need to understand Iran's difficult conditions and the limitations originating from US sanctions, including on oil exports, the president said, "As a result of these sanctions, currency transfers have been difficult and on the other hand the conditions caused by the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has also hampered imports, including the closure of some borders."

Referring to the government's measures in the economic field in the difficult conditions of imposing sanctions in the last two years, especially during the outbreak of Coronavirus in the past few months, Rouhani said: "The government's efforts have always been aimed at the maintaining peace and harmony among all active economic public and private sectors."

He praised the provision of facilities and the development of policies to protect jobs and families affected by restrictions on Corona, adding that the implementation of these programs has been a source of help for people in some difficult situations, although these programs may not compensate for all the damage. 212/104
