Tehran (IP)- Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said that EU deafening silence on suppressing American protesters is not acceptable.

Iran Press/Iran news: "While the US regime is denying the right of breath to its own people and brutally suppressing the peaceful protests, the 'deafening silence' of the so-called champions of the human rights in Europe and beyond, demonstrates, once again, their insincerity, hypocrisy and double standards," Mousavi added.

The demonstrations in the US are the result of anger over the death of an African-American man, George Floyd, who was killed by a white police officer while being arrested.

Floyd's neck and chest were pressed to the ground by policemen for nearly nine minutes, despite the victim's pleas that he could not breathe.
