China firmly opposes the U.S. inclusion of some Chinese companies, and individuals in Iran-related sanctions and urged the U.S. to immediately stop the "unreasonable suppression," the Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Tuesday.

Iran PressAsia: The remark came after Washington last week sanctioned some Chinese individuals and entities along with others in Iran, Russia, and Türkiye, alleging they're in connection with Iran's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and military aircraft development.

The Chinese ministry said the U.S. move is an abuse of unilateral sanctions and practice of "long-arm jurisdiction" that undermines the international trade order and rules, impedes normal international economic and trade exchanges, and harms the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies and individuals.

"The U.S. side should immediately stop its unreasonable suppression of Chinese companies and individuals. China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests," the ministry said in a statement.
