Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran Permanent Envoy to the International Organizations in Vienna

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Permanent Envoy to the International Organizations in Vienna, has said that US actions in cutting World Health Organization funds have a negative impact on humanity and the whole world.

Iran PressEurope: Gharibabadi expressed his regret over the US unilateral sanctions, the budget cuts of international organizations, and its devastating consequences of the global fight against COVID-19.

Speaking at a meeting of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Kazem Gharibabadi called for collective efforts of the world community to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable, and flexible economic recovery.

"Such actions should be condemned because they have a negative impact on humanity and the whole world," Gharibabadi outlined.

US President Donald Trump last month accused the World Health Organization of failing to act independently against China, threatening to cancel US membership in the global body.

In a letter to the head of the World Health Organization, he also threatened that his country might cut off funding to the international body altogether.
