Iran's foreign minister arrived at Pretoria airport early on Thursday to take part in the 15th Joint Commission of Iran and South Africa.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote in a tweet on Thursday: "The second trip to South Africa this year shows Iran's will to develop relations with Africa, actively participate in international alliances, and strengthen multilateralism."
Amir-Abdollahian said that he has traveled to Pretoria in order to pursue the latest cooperation between Iran and the BRICS group, as well as to participate in the Iran-South Africa Joint Commission.
Before he leaves Tehran for Pretoria, Amir-Abdollahian told reporters the joint commission meeting of Iran-South Africa cooperation will be held after a 3-year pause due to the corona pandemic.
