Iran Press/America: The former commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Wesley Clark, in an interview with CNN, said: "This way of talking by US President Donald Trump is very insulting because the army commanders do not belong to the president, but to the American people and they are committed to the constitution."
Clark added that in this regard, the military has taken a defensive stance against Trump's move to politicize the armed forces.
The former NATO commander also said that the protests in the United States were only related to the 'Black Lives Matter' movement, and George Floyd was a black American, but we see a broader protest against racism in the United States and even against Trump's tense tone.
Trump's threat to use the military to crack down on anti-racism demonstrators has drawn widespread criticism, with former Secretary of Defense James Mattis criticizing Trump in an unprecedented move, describing his statement as a threat to the country's constitution.
