Islamabad (IP) - The businessmen, religious leaders, students, and other citizens of the Pakistani capital of Islamabad participated in the protest.

Iran press/ Asia: The protesters were demanding an apology from the Swedish government and the execution of the perpetrators of the desecration.

While addressing the protesters, speakers said that the Sweden incident hurt more than two billion Muslims, and the religious and spiritual sentiments of the Muslim Ummah were broken. This incident is part of a plan to create conflict and chaos and sabotage efforts for global peace.

The speakers strongly condemned the heinous act of desecration of the Quran under the government's patronage.

They further said that blasphemy of the Holy Qur'an is intolerable, that the government of Pakistan should terminate diplomatic relations with Sweden and that Pakistan should expel the ambassador of Sweden.

While addressing to protest, the speakers said that Anti-Islamic forces are taking control of our resources by fighting us, OIC has to play its fundamental role instead of apologetic attitude and OIC has to focus on promoting unity and harmony in Muslim countries.

The speakers appealed the participants to boycott Swedish products.

While addressing the participants, an official of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Mian Aslam said that today the world knows that the future belongs to the Holy Quran and the Holy Qur'an and the Noble Messenger are the red line of Muslims.

He added that The Holy Quran was set on fire under the administration's protection and the same terrorist was fighting a case in court to ban Quran; this act is an attack on Islam and Islam has been challenged.

He added that 57 Islamic countries should have expelled Sweden's ambassador and boycotted Swedish products.
