Tehran (IP) - The head of the judiciary said that the United States should be tried in international courts as a defendant for violating basic human rights, not as a claimant for human rights, slamming the systematic racism in the US.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini, as well as maneuver called Imam Khomeini's Barekat Foundation's maneuver on Tuesday, Ebrahim Raisi said that the Islamic society is based on justice, stressing that the late Imam Khomeini has called justice as one of the important goals of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Raisi said at the ceremony: "Today the Executive Headquarters of Imam's Directive is carrying out this popular movement and giving 4 million packages to the poor."

Referring to the recent US protests, the head of the judiciary said: "You see the situation in Western countries and the United States, what they are doing with the deprived calling the US police's approach toward the black man as the real face of the United States while wearing no mask. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck."

Ayatollah Raeisi added: "How does the United States treat the people affected by Corona? The basic human rights in the United States are being lost and the so-called human rights claimants are not shouting. Today, the United States should be tried not as a human rights claimant but as a defendant. It's not just a matter of color, it's a matter of systematic racism in America."
