Shahr-e Kord (IP) - Harvesting Damask Rose from 400 hectares of gardens in the southwestern province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari has started.

Iran PressIran news: Damask Rose, a plant with low-water requirements and high profitability, is mainly cultivated for rosewater extraction. 

According to Ebrahim Shirani, the director of Horticultural Affairs of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, it is estimated that about 1,000 tons of Damask rose will be harvested from the province's farms in the current year.

Shahrekord, Boroujen, and Kiar County have the largest area under Damask rose cultivation in the southwestern province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.
