Tehran (IP) – Iran’s Secretary of SNSC says that the fruitless US efforts to continue Iran's arms embargo have provoked strong reactions from Russia, China.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council stressed that the world has not tolerated bullying for years following free and resilient nations and noted: "The fruitless US efforts to continue Iran's arms embargo have provoked strong reactions from Russia, China and has led to Washington's allies be wilderness as well as their confusion."

Admiral Ali Shamkhani wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday: "The fruitless efforts of the United States to continue the arms embargo on Iran have provoked strong reactions from Russia, China, and the confusion of Washington's allies."

"The world has not tolerated bullying for years following free and resilient nations," he said. "The end of this path is nothing but the collapse of unilateralism'., warned Shamkhani.

Contrary to previous claims, the US Secretary of State recently claimed that the United States was a party to UNSCR 2231 and that Article 11 could call for an extension of Iran's arms embargo.

Russia, China, some European countries and Iran have stressed that this is a misconception of the resolution, and the United States explicitly stated on May 8, 2018, that it had ended its participation in the JCPOA  (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).
