Over 70 Million Iranians screened for coronavirus

Tehran (IP) - According to Iranian Deputy Health Minister Alireza Raeisi up to Thursday afternoon over 70 million Iranian screened for early diagnosis for any symptoms to COVID-19 disease across the country.

Iran Press/Iran News: Alireza Raeisi said around 70,350,000 million people across the country have been screened for the novel coronavirus in a plan implemented by Health Ministry from the early time of Coronavirus outbreak in past 2 months.

Deputy Health Minister stressed that as the result of the implementing screening plan we witnessed a sharp decline of people’s visits to hospitals and medical centers, which help itself to decrease infection cases.

Raeisi said the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus plans like Social Distancing as well as people’s participation in the “Stay Home” campaign have an effective impact on the reduction of infection cases and fatalities of Coronavirus.

More than 56,000 Health Ministry experts are screening people through the Internet website and by the telephone, Raeisi added.

Iran Health Ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour on Thursday daily press conference announced a decrease of daily infection to COVID-19.

1,634 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country in the past 24 hours which shows a sharp decrease in the number of cases compared to the 1,997 cases on April 8, Jahanpour said.

Kianoush Jahanpour on March 29 announced that 60 million Iranians registered at Salamat.gov.ir to check themselves in the framework of the national screening program.
