Tabriz (IP) - The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Farahnaz Rafe' stated that no country in the world can compete with Iran in the field of handmade carpets.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press correspondent in Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Director of Iran's National Carpet Center Farahnaz Rafe' stated: "No country in the world has the ability to compete with Iranian handmade carpets."

She further added, "Handmade carpet is an ancient Iranian heritage and Iranians abroad should also be involved in its marketing."

The director of the National Carpet Center of Iran, emphasizing the importance of exporting handmade rugs, stated that in addition to the 15 neighboring countries, the Eurasian and European countries are Iran's target for export of handmade carpets. 

Emphasizing the importance of using knowledge-based companies for marketing in the carpet industry, Farhanaz Rafe' noted "Carpet, is an Iranian valuable and strategic non-oil export and can contribute a significant share of national income, whereas it needs little fund for investment." 101/211/219
