Tehran (IP) - Secretary-General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, Hojatollah Ayoubi said UNESCO's seat in environmental learning unveiled in Iran's PNU can be source for sharing experiences with the world and vice versa.

Iran PressIran news: Hojatollah Ayoubi, on the sidelines of the Environmental Education National Festival which held on Sunday in Tehran's Payame Noor University in an exclusive interview with Iran Press said that Iran is proud that Payame Noor University (PNU) has the UNESCO's seat in environmental learning, and this seat can transfer the world's experiences into Iran and vice versa.

Secretary-General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO added: "We also have good experiences which can help us bring world experiences to Iran and Iran experiences to the world since we are people with rich culture."

He went on to say that: "One way is to go to the cities which observe the environment with the focus on municipalities. Fortunately, this is happening in many of our cities and municipalities, and UNESCO can also help our mayors to see this national wealth, especially in the development of their city."

"If we are a rich country in different fields, but we do not have clean air, our country will not be inhabitable. The environment is a special opportunity for us and If we can be a model in the clean environment, we can make sure the world will appreciate it," the Secretary-General concluded.

Environmental Education National Festival was inaugurated in Payame Noor University in Tehran with the attendance of the UNESCO's head on environmental education, Seyyed Mohammad Shobeiri, the director of Payam-e-Noor University Mohammad Reza Zamani and the Secretary-General of the UNESCO National Commission in Iran Hojjatullah Ayoubi.
