head of UNESCO chair on environmental education

Tehran (IP) - National festival of environmental education was inaugurated in Payam-e-Noor university in Tehran with the attendance of the head of UNESCO chair on environmental education and the director of Payam-e-Noor University.

Iran Press/Iran news: Head of UNESCO chair on environmental education Seyyed Mohammad Shobeiri referring to the environmental education day, noted, "Five exhibitions are being held in the field of educational environment. Also, the unveiling ceremony of national symbol of environmental education is among the events of this festival."

Director of Payam-e-Noor University Mohammad Reza Zamani for his part stated, "Payam-e-Noor university is a brand of developing e-learning which is a special aid for protecting the environment. Our aim is the green education. During recent years, we have held 25% of our exams electronically, which means less use of paper and directly protecting woods."

"Artificial paper is another achievement gained by Payam-e-Noor university. We have used the polymer as the book cover, which has happened for the first time", Zamani underscored.

The Secretary-General of the UNESCO National Commission in Iran Hojjatullah Ayoubi in this festival said that "in order to pay to respect the environment, we should change our belief as does the new generation in Iran. Respecting water and bread is the modern treatment toward the environment. It should change as a public belief. This is one of the UNESCO duties."

"Considering Hyrkani Forests which has mentioned by UNESCO, now the public opinion has been focused on it. In this way we can remind the world the civilized vision of Iran and Iranian", Ayoubi said.
