Tehran (IP) - Iranian Vice-President for Legal Affairs described the assassination of top Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani, as a "targeted killing".

Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of a cabinet session on Wednesday, Iranian Vice-President for Legal Affairs Laya Joneydi called the recent US terrorist act of assassinating Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani as a "targeted killing", saying: "We cannot go into the detail. Technically, we have already said on the website of the Vice Presidency for Legal Affairs that the recent US act is assassination. In fact, it is called a targeted killing."

She further noted: "At the moment that the assassination has occurred, there was no state of war between Iran and the United States, and we do not look at it from a war perspective, but their action is completely an "illegal" action."

"There was no conflict between Iran and the US at the time of that attack, and there was no war. It was an assassination committed by the US government in a targeted way," She noted.

The Commander of Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi officials, was assassinated by the US air-raid in Baghdad on January 3, 2020, along with his companions.

Many countries, organizations, and groups have condemned the US terrorist act.
