Iranian rock climber Reza Alipour won International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup which was held in Russia.

According to Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation, Alipour with record of 5:82 seconds ranked first at the event.

Choosing the best athlete of the year was done by the users of the World Games official website. Alipour was elected the best in the second round of the voting.

He also carries the title of Usain Bolt of speed climbing.

Usain St Leo Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter. He is the first person to hold both the 100 meters and 200 meters world records since fully automatic time became mandatory.

Alipour’s best record had come in the semifinal stage when he climbed the 15-meter wall in 5.71 seconds.

The “Iranian Cheetah” also nicknamed the “vertical world's fastest man” holds the world record with 5.48 seconds which he set on April 30, 2017 in Nanjing, China.
