British forces were in the coalition military bases in Iraq that were hit by Iranian missiles overnight, UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab has confirmed.

Iran Press/Europe: Iran fired about 15 missiles from within its territory at the Ain al-Assad airbase and another facility in Erbil at 1.30 am local time (10.30 pm UK time).

US President Donald Trump tweeted "all is well" following the attack on the bases, which was carried out in response to the killing of Iranian Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani by America.

In a statement released in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that a US airbase in western Iraq has been hit with 'tens of missiles'.

The attack came in response to a US terrorist drone strike days earlier that martyred one of Iran's top Generals, the former Commander of IRGC's elite Quds Force, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.
