Iran Press/Iran news: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, visited the home of Lieutenant General Ghasem Soleimani, on Friday evening. Showing sympathy for the family of the martyred General, the Leader expressed his condolences and congratulations for the martyrdom of the sincere and distinguished fighter in the way of God.
Referring to Martyr Soleimani’s sincerity and self-sacrifice, Ayatollah Khamenei stated, “There had been repeated attempts on Ghasem Soleimani's life, and he faced martyrdom every day, but in performing his duty and fighting for the cause of God, he had no fear of anyone or anything.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed the fact that Lieutenant General Soleimani was martyred by the most villainous individuals, the American officials, and their pride in this crime to be a distinguishing feature of this brave fighter in the way of God and reminded, “His struggle was a great struggle, and God made his martyrdom a great martyrdom. This was a significant blessing for him, who was truly deserving (of such a glorious martyrdom). Hajj Ghasem had to be martyred in such a befitting manner.”

While asking Allah to bestow patience and divine calm on the hearts of the martyr’s family members and the hearts of all of the Iranian people, Ayatollah Khamenei added: “Today, you saw how the people in different cities of the country came to the streets in great numbers and with exceptional devotion. You will also witness this devotion at his funeral (with great numbers). These blessings are before our eyes, so we understand the value of martyrdom. What a blessing for Hajj Ghasem who achieved his dream. He actively courted martyrdom, he cherished martyrdom, he shed tears for it, and mourned for his martyred friends.”
Stressing that outward Jihad relies on ‘the biggest Jihad’, which is an internal Jihad, Ayatollah Khamenei addressed the daughter of the martyred General by saying: “All of the people are bereaved and grateful to your father. And this gratitude is due to his outstanding sincerity, an outstanding quality which existed in him because the hearts are in the hands of God. Without sincerity, the people’s hearts wouldn’t have recognized him in this way. May God bestow His blessings on all of us and all the Iranian nation.”
