FM spox: France statement on Iranian national, an interventionist move

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said the French Foreign Ministry's statement on an arrested Iranian national was an interventionist move.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi on Sunday responded to a recent statement by the French Foreign Ministry about the arrested Iranian citizen, saying: "The person (Ms. Fariba Adelkhah) is a citizen of Iran and has been arrested on charges of espionage."

Mousavi added: "The lawyer of the Iranian national was informed of the details of the case and this case is being investigated by the judiciary."

Iranian Foreign Minister Spokesman further referred to a French national detained on charges of "collusion against national security", noting that "He had consular access several times so far and his lawyer is aware of his charges and is in contact with Iranian judiciary officials."

According to Mousavi, the recent situation cannot prevent an investigation by the Iranian Judiciary into these cases especially in relation to the security charges brought against these two people. 104/211/219
