An international conference on traditional medicine was held in India in a bid to expand cooperation in traditional medicine between Iran and India.

Iran Press/ Asia: The 2-day international conference called "International conference on fundamentals of Unani medicine" kicked off on Wednesday and is underway in India's Aligarh Islamic University.

Speaking at the conference, Chief Counsellor and Head of Iran Culture House in New Delhi, Mohammed Ali Rabbani said that such conferences pave the way for better understanding and collaborations for research, faculty, and students exchange programs.

The Indian government recently sent a delegation to Iran which was warmly welcomed by the Iranian authorities.

Since four years ago, traditional medicine was a subordinate section of the Indian Ministry of Health, but by the end of 2014, the government had upgraded it to the Ministry of Traditional Medicine.
