Decline in the population is a disaster for Iranian society: IRGC top commander, Ali Fadavi

Tehran (IP)- Top IRGC commander denounced the decline in the population as a disaster for Iranian society.

Iran PressIran news: At the ceremony marking 'Basij Week' that was held with the attendance of senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and members of Women Basij in Tehran, Deputy Commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Ali Fadavi referred to the issue of population decline as a disaster and also urged women to take working at homes seriously, Iran Press reported.

"The issue of decline in the population is a disaster for our country," said Fadavi in the ceremony.

Fadavi continued that 40 years after the Islamic revolution, Basij and the Army have achieved complete successes.

"In recent days, our country has faced complicated plots which all have been failed in a matter of 48 hours. The enemies of Iran have been astonished by the vigilance of Iranian forces to foil the conspiracies," he said.

Reminding the women's crucial roles in social developments, the commander added: "They likely to hold more roles than men. The US and its puppet, the Shah of Iran, have massacred people on 17th of Shahrivar (Sep. 8, 1978) and after that, the demonstration and the protest were banned but the women were the pioneers to rally against that ban and curfew." 

Head of Mohammad Rasool Allah Battelian Brigadier General Yazdi was the other lecturer, who said the women are trying "to indicate the true face of the Muslim Women in the second phase of the Islamic revolution."  

Yazdi added that we are witnessing how Muslim women are active in the different social, family, economy and political fields. In the economy and even in the defense and security fields, they have got significant achievements.

At the end of the ceremony, 40 successful women in different social services fields were honored. 212/ 104
