US occupation continues in Syria oil-rich Deir ez-Zor

Despite the US claims about withdrawing from Syria, Washington has started the construction of two new military bases in Syria's oil-rich Deir ez-Zor governorate.

Iran PressAsia: The US new military bases are being built in the 113th Brigade area and near al-Sur region in Syria's oil-rich Deir ez-Zor governorate, according to local sources.

While the footage captured by Anadolu Agency showed that the construction equipment is put into action, it was learnt that the US has sent 250 to 300 additional soldiers, armored vehicles, heavy weapons and ammunition to the region, the Agency reported.

After a pause in Turkey's operation in northern Syria, US troops on Friday resumed military patrols around oil reservoirs in northeastern Syria.

Earlier, there were also reports of the US military cooperating with the ISIS terrorist group for smuggling Syrian oil out of the country.

The US has a military presence in Syria under the pretext of combating terrorist groups (without Damascus's permission).

While US President Donald Trump acknowledges Washington as a major contributor to the emergence of terrorist groups, including ISIS, Illegal US presence in Syria under the pretext of combating terrorism has been continued.

According to US official reports, so far, the US has provided billions of dollars in weapons and equipment to terrorists based in Syria. 

Syrian officials have repeatedly stressed that US actions in Syria are tantamount to 'occupation'.
