North Korea confirms successful test of multiple rocket launcher

North Korea announced on Friday the launch of two short-range projectiles off its east coast on Thursday that it says enhances its ability to destroy enemy targets in surprise attacks.

Iran Press/Asia: The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) described the tests a day after South Korea and Japan said they detected two projectiles launched from an area near Pyongyang, the North Korean capital.

North Korea has been moving to enhance its military capabilities, as nuclear talks with the United States remain in limbo.

North Korea said it tested its "super-large multiple rocket launcher," the same one it tested on 24 August and 10 September.
