Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met the spokesman for Yemen's Ansarullah Movement, Mohammed Abdul Salam, in Tehran on Saturday.
Referring to the tremendous humanitarian loss in the five-years long Saudi war in Yemen, Zarif said, "Only a political solution can end Yemen's war," Iran Press reported.
Iranian Foreign Minister added that his country is ready for dispatch of humanitarian aid to Yemen, noting that killing civilians and the Saudi-led military coalition's blockade of the war-torn country should end conclusively.
He also voiced Tehran’s support for Yemeni-Yemeni talks and its readiness to send humanitarian aid to Yemen.
Abdul Salam, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic and briefed Zarif on the latest developments in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement.
The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 91,000 lives over the past four and a half years. 101
