Millions of Hosseini Mourners on the day of Arbaeen from North to South and West to the East of Iran take to streets to mark Arbaeen.

Iran Press/Iran News: Hundred thousand Iranian worshippers in big cities like Tehran, Mashhad, Qom, Yazd, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Shiraz, marched through the streets on Saturday, as part of the annual observance of Arbaeen.

In Tehran, Hosseini mourners on the day of Arbaeen marched from Imam Hossein SQ toward the mausoleum of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (PBUH) south of the city to mark Arbaeen.

The Arbaeen is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein in the seventh century.

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias march toward Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) is located, to perform mourning rites marking Arbaeen.

Over 20 million pilgrims from around the world, including a record number of Iranians, have entered the holy Iraqi city of Karbala for observing Arbaeen rites.

A total of 3.5 million Iranians had entered Iraq to take part in the ceremony, 1.2 million more than the number reported last year and topping previous participation records.101/205
