Karbala (IP) - Hundreds of Kenyan and African mourners on Friday took part in mourning ceremonies and processions for the Chief of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), as well as his family and loyal companions, in the Iraqi city of Karbala.

Iran PressMiddle East: Arba'een, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS) every year in which a huge crowd of Shia flock into the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rituals.

This year the Arba'een pilgrimage has coincided on Saturday (October 19).
