Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari visits Shalamchech border terminal

Shalamchech (IP) - Iran's Police Chief who visited Shalamche borderer line with Iraq, in Khouzestan province saying that all services for Arba'een pilgrims' are ready.

Iran Press/Iran news: Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari said there is full readiness at the four Iranian borders to provide to the pilgrims of Arba'een with services.

"These days, the police are ready to serve Arba'een pilgrims and hopefully we do not have any security problems," General Ashtari asserted according to Iran Press.

Arba'een, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS) every year in which a huge crowd of Shia's flocks to the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rituals.

Every year Shia Muslims from across the globe converge on Iraq to commemorate Arba'een. Pilgrims travel miles on foot to reach the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Karbala. 101/205
