The Head of Culture and Islamic Communications Organisation of Iran said 4000 entries from 19 countries are taking part in this year's Global Arbaeen Awards.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Tuesday at the closing ceremony of this year's Global Arbaeen Awards, Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman said eleven countries in total have been awarded prizes in this year's competition, and a poster  for next year's Global Arbaeen Awards will be unveiled as well.

According to an Iran Press report, Ebrahimi Torkaman added: "Islam teaches us not to be selfish and self-centred, instead of focusing on ourselves to focus on God, instead of seeing ourselves only, to see others and to see God. Being self-centred often stops you from seeing God.

He added: "The great characteristic of love is that it stops you from focusing on yourself and just seeing yourself, to focusing on others and seeing others.  The love which remains is the love of God."

The Holy Quran says give as alms that which you like. Since most people love themselves more than anything else, this means we should give ourselves or dedicate ourselves to God Almighty.

The thing which distinguishes Imam Hussein (PBUH) is that God gave him everything, in just the same way as Imam Hussein (PBUH) gave everything that he had in the way of God!  The Almighty loves those who love Hussein Ebne Ali (PBUH). All the love we see in Ashoura is the love that remains -- the love of God.

The Head of Culture and Islamic Communications Organisation added: "The reason we have gathered here today is that each competitor, in his or her way, has displayed the love of God in Karbala (and Ashoura) in one way or another.
