journalist and university professor, Arslan Bulut

A Turkish journalist and university professor, Arslan Bulut in Istanbul called the US behavior in the region as double Standard.

Iran Press/Middle East: On September 28, the Republican People Party, led by Kamal Ghulichdar Oglodar, held an international conference on "The International Dimensions of the Syrian Crisis" in Ankara to find a solution to the Syrian crisis.

A delegation of scholars and representatives from Russia, Iran, Iraq, and the United States were invited to attend the conference, According to Iran press report.

"The Ankara meeting, which was to be attended by Syrian government officials, was held without the presence of the Syrian officials due to lack of visa issuance. Turkey did not issue visas to these officials and prevented them from attending the meeting, which is to say the ruling party in Turkey did not tolerate such an action on the opposition side and sought to create obstacles to the outcome of the meeting.", said Arslan Bulut.

After this meeting, the Turkish ruling party also held another meeting with representatives of some regional states on the Syrian crisis. While the ruling government can negotiate directly with the Syrian constitutional government and no longer need mediators, there was a weak performance of Turkish foreign policy, " the journalist said.

Referring to the efforts to establish a “safe zone” in northern Syria, Bolut pointed out, "To better understand the issue, we have to look at the origin of the plan (Safe zone)," said Arslan Bolut.

At the moment it seems that it is a Turkish plan, but when we look back it turns out that the plan was also part of an American wider plan for the region. In fact, US-backed terrorist groups who have occupied much of eastern and northern Syria are seeking a safe haven for themselves which will be ideal for them. "

Calling the US behavior in the region as double Standard, the university professor also added," on the one hand the US considers Turkey as its strategic partner and on the other hand sends more weapons to armed groups that are being called terrorists by Turkey,"

Considering the fact, it can be said that "the ruling party in Turkey needs to adopt a smarter foreign policy, so holding a meeting to resolve the Syrian crisis by opposition parties in Turkey could pave the way for a new foreign policy towards Syria."
