Iranian foreign minister said despite the failure of US maximum pressure on Iran, the failed approach still continues to implement against Iran and the Americans have to correct their wrong policies.

Iran Press/Iran news: On the sideline of the special gathering to mark the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN in Tehran on Wednesday, Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, reminding recent events in Yemen and US allegations against Iran, said that US policy of maximum pressure still continues despite its failure but this approach will reach nowhere.

Stressing on the need to end the violence in Yemen, Zarif said the only solution to the current situation in the country is to cease the conflicts and Iran repeatedly announced its readiness to help to achieve that goal, Iran Press reported.

"Instead of highlighting the crimes against Yemeni people, US politicians highlight the responses to these acts," he said.

Iran's FM went on saying that inefficiency of US defense systems in Saudi Arabia to intercept Yemeni drones and missiles and its consequence shame, is the root cause of their attempts to accuse Iran of being the culprit in Saturday's drone attack on Saudi oil plants in the country's east.

Zarif said Iran has clearly denied any involvement in the attacks and added that the US is better to face the realities rather than a distraction.

"The US tries to forget the realities of our region, the fact that Yemeni people are subject to the worst inhumane crimes in the last four and half years which all international organizations have confirmed", Zarif said, adding that "In past years, many children have been killed in bombardments and it's natural that Yemeni people try to defend themselves."

Zarif also said, "Unfortunately, in last days the US has proved that oil and refinery installations matter more than lives of children and dignity of people and, they need to change their attitude toward these matters."

"From the very beginning of the crisis, Islamic Republic of Iran has always stressed that this crisis has no military solution; but, those who thought that they could beat people of Yemen in a few days by their military might and massive weapon purchases from the US, today and after four and half years cannot even intercept Yemeni missiles and drones."

Zarif also said that the only way out for the crisis is intra-Yemeni talks and even today is not too late to stop all these crimes by solving these problems through dialogue.

Mentioning US extremist policies against Iran, Zarif stressed that these harsh and hawkish approaches toward Iran are doomed to fail and one after the other, we witness the failure of these policies.

"The US has to correct its policies, one day, they invite someone to the White House and the other day, they put sanctions on him; this is a wrong policy that they have to correct otherwise, they isolate themselves more than ever," Zarif added.

He also asked for an increase in cooperation among ASEAN countries and emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks for strengthening cooperation and partnership with its friends in ASEAN.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising ten countries in Southeast Asia, which promotes intergovernmental cooperation and facilitates economic, political, security, military, educational, and socio-cultural integration among its members and other countries in Asia.

ASEAN also regularly engages with other countries in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

A major partner of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, ASEAN maintains a global network of alliances and dialogue partners and is considered by many as a global powerhouse the central union for cooperation in Asia-Pacific, and a prominent and influential organization.

It is involved in numerous international affairs and hosts diplomatic missions throughout the world. The ASEAN Secretariat is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. 101/104/212/
