Iran Press/Iran news: The manager of Sungun copper Complex, Reza Sharifi, said that the body is one of the biggest surface mines all across the world.
Sharifi in an exclusive interview with Iran Press said that Sungun copper mine is one of Iran's copper mine trilogy, among which Sungun stands as the biggest surface mine across the world.
Sharifi went on to explain further that "at the status quo, more than 2 billion tons of geological reserves together with more than 1 billion minable reserves are available to be changed to final products."
Sungun head further explained that at the present time two factories of condensation of 150000 tons are operating so that each year they make 150000 tons of 25-percent condensation out of 7 tons of soil.
Sharifi concluded that the designing and implementation of the melting plant, refinery, and acid manufacturing factory is on the agenda so that the manufactured 25-percent concentrate could be changed to the final product of 99/99 grade.
The Sungun copper mine is located in Varzaqan county, East Azarbaijan, Iran, 75 km northwest of the provincial town of Ahar.
