The Iranian national volleyball team defeated Japan 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) on Sunday to gain a total of 16 points and stand top in the table of Volleyball Nations League.

Iran Press/Asia News: In the second week of the event, held in Tokyo, Iran gained two victories against Argentina and Japan while conceding a defeat to Brazil, according to Iran Press.

Iran now stands top in the VNL table with 16 points while France, Brazil, and Italy rank next.

Iran, Russia, Poland, and Canada will travel to Urmia, northwest Iran, to hold the Week 3 of the event in Pool 11.

The six qualified teams play in 2 pools of 3 teams in the round-robin.

The top two teams of each pool qualify for the semifinals.

The pool winners play against the runners-up in this round.

The semifinals winners advance to compete for the Nations League title. The losers face each other in the third-place match. 208/213
