In a striking condemnation, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both a "war criminal" and a "liar" following Netanyahu's address to the U.S. Congress.

Iran PressAmerica: “Netanyahu is a war criminal. We must do everything in our power to end the war in Gaza and provide immediate humanitarian relief to the people who are suffering there,” Sanders declared in a message on his social media account on X on Thursday morning.

Sanders underscored the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza, highlighting that humanitarian organizations have reported tens of thousands of Palestinian children facing hunger due to the Israeli regime's blockade on aid deliveries. "Netanyahu's extremist regime continues to block the delivery of humanitarian aid to this region," Sanders emphasized.

The Senator also criticized Netanyahu's motives for his congressional appearance, suggesting it was more about Israeli domestic politics than international diplomacy. Israelis want Netanyahu to step down and therefore he actually came to the US Congress to advance his election campaign, Sanders asserted.

In a historical context, Sanders pointed out the unprecedented nature of Netanyahu's address: “It is for the first time in the history of the United States, such an honor has been given to a ‘war criminal,’” referring to the Israeli leader.

Sanders, known for his outspoken stance, has consistently criticized Netanyahu and U.S. support for Israel. He has called for significant policy changes, particularly in response to Israel’s inhumane actions against Palestinians.
