The eighth group of Iranians who traveled to the Republic of Azerbaijan and were unable to return to Iran due to the closure of the border after the outbreak of coronavirus were transferred to the country today.

Iran Press/Asia: A group of 120 Iranian citizens left Baku for the Astara border crossing with the support of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan and the coordination of the officials of the two countries.

Previously, 905 other Iranian citizens returned home in seven groups from the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The border crossings of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have been closed to passengers since March 1, 2020, to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Also, the air commute between the two countries has been temporarily suspended for the same reason.

Despite the closure of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan borders for passengers, the movement of freight and transit trucks between the two countries continues as before. 101/207
