Security measures in Pakistani capital intensifies

Security measures have been stepped up in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad following a recent terrorist attack on police in the city.

Iran PressAsia: Pakistani media reported on Thursday that security forces, anti-terrorist units, and law enforcement agencies were on high alert in various parts of Islamabad, and that police were monitoring the security situation in the capital through installed cameras.

Mohammad Zulfiqar Khan, the commander of Islamabad police said that security measures had been stepped up to protect government and public places and that joint operations by law enforcement agencies were underway throughout the city.

The Jamaat-ul-Ahrar terrorist group in Pakistan claimed responsibility for an armed attack on police forces in Islamabad a week ago. Two Pakistani policemen were killed in the terrorist attack.
