Mazandaran (IP) - Mazandaran province in northern Iran with 214,000 hectares of rice fields and producing more than one million and 350 thousand tons of rice, supplies 40% of the rice consumed in Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Preparing the land, procurement of proper seed, tending and cultivating rice seedlings and transplanting seedlings to the farm are the steps that farmers do to plant rice.

Rice is produced in two traditional and mechanised methods in Mazandaran province. This year, 60,000 hectares of Mazandaran lands were cultivated mechanically and the rest were cultivated traditionally, Iran Press reported.
