Admiral Shamkhani

Tehran (IP) - The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council stresses that verification of obligations to the JCPOA provisions and providing guarantees for western commitments are integral to reaching a "good deal" in Vienna talks.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's international nuclear agreement or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (Russia, China, UK, Germany, France, and the US) in 2015, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the Secretary of Iran's National Security Council Ali Shamkhani wrote: " Proven American malpractice is the most important threat to any agreement."

"The real lifting of sanctions means that #Iran will enjoy credible and sustainable economic benefits," Admiral Shamkhani pointed out.

Furthermore, he emphasized verification and providing a guarantee as an integral part of a Good Deal.

The 8th round of talks in the Capital of Austria between Iran and other parties in the framework of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) resumed on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

The participants in the Vienna talks, after consulting in their capitals, will continue to discuss the prospect of a possible return of the United States to the JCPOA and how to ensure the full and effective implementation of the agreement by all parties.

The Iranian delegation, based on its principles and instructions, has put its demands and proposals about the remaining issues on the table, and now it is up to the Western party to make a due decision.

Yet, some European parties have tried to impose their demands on the other in the negotiations, while pretending in their media that Russia and China have taken a stance in favor of the Western parties' demands.
