A key highway linking the capital Damascus to other Syrian provinces has been reopened after seven years of war. The development follows the Syrian army's liberation of the Eastern Ghouta region in April.
According to the United Nations, almost 600 people had been killed in Eastern Ghouta and over 2,000 were injured.
