Iran's Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General said in Tehran on Tuesday that all armed forces in Iran are working together to fight against drug- trafficking.

Iran Press/Iran news: In response to the question of Iran Press correspondence, Iran's Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni said that one of our main priorities is to fight and prevent entrance of drug and narcotics inside Iran's borders, seas, deserts.

He noted that the important anti-drugs operations improved perfectly by the non-stop efforts of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guards Corps).

Regarding Afghanistan issue, Iran's Deputy Police Chief added: "We have done decisive talks and counselling with Turkey, China, Russia and Bulgaria to put international pressures on this issue."

Iran, which has a 900-kilometer common border with Afghanistan, has been used as the main conduit for smuggling Afghan drugs to narcotics kingpins in Europe.

Despite high economic and human costs, the Islamic Republic has been actively fighting drug-trafficking over the past decades.
