Iran news/ The third edition of Iran EXPO (2018), Export Potential Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran, kicked off today in Tehran’s Shahr-e-Aftab International Fairground, Iran Press reported.
The international event is a trade event that aims to help companies export their products, develop new markets, and promote their industries by serving a platform for trade and commerce in Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the importance of non-oil export position.
Issah Nasir, a managing director from Ghana who has participated in the event, told Iran Press correspondent that Iran is a country where "domestication and self-sufficiency is very high".
Stressing the fact that Iran's industry is in a right direction, Nasir added, "They (Iranians) depend on what they produce mostly in the Agro-sector."
Nasir called Iran as an ideal country for future investment in order to get more knowledge as well as sharing experiences.
Alexey Cheskidove the president of a Russian company also told Iran Press correspondent that he is interested in Iranian industry specially in the field of stone machines, cement, metal and oil.
Cheskidove concluded that he hopes the cooperation with Iran in the mentioned areas will be the long lasting experience.
Iran Expo targets key sectors or industries which are identified as having the capacity and capability to produce highly-quality products for export and more potential areas of investment.
Some 611 foreign businessmen from 57 different countries are participating in the event, said Majid Takbiri, the director of Iran EXPO on Thursday, adding that 25 trading delegations from 18 countries are also due to visit the exhibition.
He went on to say that 260 Iranian companies are presenting their latest products in 12 categories including food industry, agriculture, automobile, handicrafts, industrial parts, electricity and energy, carpets, textiles, leather and apparel, household appliances, cellulosic health products, medical and hospital equipment, and construction industries.
