Iran news/ According to an Iran Press report, the head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism organization Ali Asghar Mounesan on Monday stressed the fact that at the status quo, when USA is trying to raise the notion of Iranophobia all across the world, The Global Tourism Summit 2018 is considered as an important step to introduce Iran's true treasure as well as that of the Iranian nation to the world.
He went on to call the event as a good opportunity for inscribing the Iranian historical city of Hamedan under and international identity.
Appreciating Hamedan governor's efforts to pave the ground for growth of tourism and providing the necessary infra structure, Iran's vice president explained further that all of the efforts are going to be arranged so that Hamedan will be granted its' unique status all around the world.

Referring to the fact that tourism is considered as one of the most important tools for progress of the developing countries, Mounesan emphasized that tourism is the World's third economic source which also accounts for at least 1 out of 10 jobs.
The top Tourism official also called tourism development as profitable factor leading to increase of Iran's foreign currency income which in turn will also lead to development of the economy sector. He also discussed about the effects of tourism in the three dimensions of social, economic and cultural nature.
Speaking at Conference called "Walnuts, furniture and wood carving", held in Tuyserkan, Hamdean province, Munesan also called tourism as effective tool for introducing the country's history and culture to the world. He also described it as a factor hindering further immigration from towns and villages to the cities as well as a great help for an equitable distribution of wealth.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. UNWTO encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, to maximize tourism’s socio-economic contribution while minimizing its possible negative impacts, and is committed to promoting tourism as an instrument in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), geared towards reducing poverty and fostering sustainable development worldwide.
The body has chosen "Ali Sadr" travel agency in the historical city of Hamedan as a member of its' managing committee . The Travel Agency is going to host 40th international Tourism Summit in Hamedan. So far many international travel agencies all across the world have announced their readiness to take prat in the up coming event in November 2018.
The Iranian city of Hamadan has been chosen as Asia's hub of tourism in 2018 by the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).
The historical city of Hamedan at a glance
Hamedan is believed to be among the oldest Iranian cities. Hamedan has a green mountainous area in the foothills of the 3,574-meter Alvand Mountain, in the Midwest part of Iran. The city is 1,850 meters above sea level.
The special nature of this old city and its' historic sites attract tourists during the summer to this city, located approximately 360 kilometres (220 miles) southwest of Tehran.
