The head of Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization has emphasized that Iran's tourism industry is expanding.

Speaking on Saturday, Ali Asghar Mounesan, the head of Cultural Heritage Organization said:   "God willing, domestic and foreign tourism will be much expanded in Tabriz and in Iranian Azerbaijan, in 2018.  Iran's  tourist attraction sites will be introduced to a much wider global audience in 2018".

"We have about one thousand and seven hundred tourism projects currently underway in Iran, and we hope by  the end of tenure of this government , between one thousand and two hundred and one thousand and two hundred fifty two projects should be completed".

Elsewhere in his remarks,  Mounesan said:  "With the completion of these projects we would see a substantial growth and revival of tourism regions and tourism industry. The development activities that have been going on, to develop tourism infrastructure in this country, in President Hassan Rouhani's  government, is unprecedented and exceptional in Iranian history."
