Iran Envoy in Vienna Kazem Gharibabadi

Iran envoy in Vienna says there is a great possibility for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of action (JCPOA ) meeting at the sideline of UNGA by the participation of foreign ministers of signatory states.

Iran Press/America: There is a great possibility for a ministerial meeting on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, said Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Iran Press quoted Sputnik.

Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that a meeting of the JCPOA foreign ministers would be held in New York on September 25.

"Our minister just left for New York. The ministers for foreign affairs are there and there is a great possibility to have a meeting, so let's wait and see what would happen in New York," Gharibabadi said.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in New York on Friday night to participate in the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Tehran will continue to partially reduce its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal, but will make a decision on the next step depending on the actions of other parties to the agreement, Kazem Gharibabadi told Sputnik news agency in an interview.

"There are options on the table, but no decision has been taken for the fourth phase ... Every 60 days Iran will cease some of its obligations partially ... But what would be the options - it depends on facts on the ground," Gharibabadi said.

"So it does not mean that [it is] necessary for the next phase Iran will cease all its obligations under the deal", Gharib Abadi," Iran's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, said. 101/211/205
