Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that ending the economic war is absolutely necessary in order for America to rejoin the JCPOA Joint Commission.

Iran Press/ America: Zarif told the reporters on Friday evening that a proposal for the US to attend the joint commission meeting as a guest has not been mooted until now, but the negotiation table belongs to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) member states particularly those who fulfill their obligations regarding the nuclear deal.

"In the current situation, it seems impossible that the meeting of the JCPOA Joint Commission turns into a 5 + 1 meeting," Zarif told the reporters according to Iran Press.

Regarding French President Emmanuel Macron's attempt to mediate between Iran and the US, Zarif also said: "Macron's efforts to reach a solution is not possible through the US framework."

Iranian Foreign Minister in the following said that Iranian delegation in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly has various programs in New York, including meeting the intellectuals and a meeting of the foreign ministers of the 4+1 and Iran.

According to Zarif, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly will deliver a speech on the present situation in the region and the world, breach of international agreements by the US, and Iran's point-of-view regarding regional security.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV channel said that the US is "addicted to sanctions".

Zarif reiterated in the interview that the most important thing is the agreement between neighboring countries and waiting for the support of extra-regional powers is useless.
