Sirjan (IP) - On the occasion of World Handicraft Day, a great handicrafts market started its work on Tuesday in the global city of rugs and killims, the city of Sirjan in Kerman province in southeastern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: In this market, beautiful handicrafts and art of Sirjan, produced by local artists and craftsmen, including woodwork, enamel work, hand-woven rugs (Kilims), have been put on public display, reported Iran Press.

Sirjan is world famous for its handwoven rugs (kilims), and has always attracted foreign tourists who visit this historic city in the southwest of Kerman province.

June 10 is the World Handicrafts Day and marking this day, a special occasion has been prepared to publicise and promote Iran's artistic and handicrafts heritage for one week. 203/211/208
