Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has said the Islamic Republic stresses security of the Strait of Hormuz as a global energy lifeline as long as Iranian nation’s interests are met.

Iran Press/Iran news: Seyyed Abbas Mousavi made the remarks  on Friday after the Bahraini foreign minister threatened that Iran will not be allowed to close Hormuz Strait even a single day.

According to IRNA, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that officials of the tiny state are recommended out of goodwill and good neighbourliness “to observe limits when speaking with the one older than them,” as the Persian sages have said centuries ago, “How a fly can overthrow an eagle?”

Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa said in an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat that Iran will not be allowed to close Hormuz Strait.

He also claimed that closing the strait will be detrimental to Iran, too.

On May. 02, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that we will not let the US destabilize the Strait of Hormuz.
