Iran SNSC Spox unveils US tries to send mediators to Tehran

Spokesman of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) disclosed that officials of different states have visited Tehran recently for mediation between Tehran and Washington.

Iran Press/Iran News: Keivan Khosravi announced that it had informed all foreign officials who visited Iran privately and publicly that Tehran will by no means sit to the negotiating table with the US unless it shows ‘respect, Iran Press reported.

"There has been an increase in the visits made by officials from various countries to Iran, mainly representative of the US...some of these visits are public and some are secret," said Khosravi.

SNSC spox added: "Based on the principles of the Islamic Republic, and without any exception, we have informed all the officials who have visited Iran secretly and publicly a message of strength and logical resistance and steadfastness of Iranian people."

His remarks came as Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei told a gathering of senior Iranian officials that he saw no possibility of war between Tehran and Washington, adding that the recent US military buildup in the region only aimed at frightening Iran to yield to the White House demands, but Iran stands strong.

The Leader further said any confrontation between the US and Iran would not be 'a military one,' and that 'there was not going to be any war'.

Ayatollah Khamenei further explained that the confrontation between the two sides is 'a clash of wills,' asserting that Iran would be the ultimate victor of this battle.

The Leader ruled out any negotiation with the US as long as Washington sticks with its hostile approach against the Islamic Republic, saying Washington would be attempting to undermine Iran’s 'points of strength,' such as its defensive power or its strategic regional influence, in any such interaction. 208/104
